Since our beginning in the Traveling Water Screen business we have moved in a steadfast manner to achieve our goal of establishing our company as one of the leaders in the energy and water municipalities industry. During the last two decades, we have crossed many milestones and are committed to cross many more in the future.
Following is a glimpse of our achievements:
1986 While operating under its forerunner, Hawco Screens Inc., began manufacturing and servicing and providing parts for traveling water screens.
1988 Hawco Manufacturing’s founder and CEO Henry A Watson Sr. responded to a customer request to make repairs to a traveling water screen at a local paper mill near St. Francisville LA and inadvertently became a household name in the traveling water screen business for developing the concept of “on-site” rebuilds. That same year Hawco Screens moved to Monticello MS into a new facility.
1989 Hawco changed its name to Screening Systems International Inc better known as SSI and began making new inclined screens. SSI was responsible for the first thru-flow screen conversion to dual-flow.
1991 Growing rapidly, becoming a new screen OEM, along with a parts department, complete field services, and engineering department, SSI was quickly becoming a fully innovated Traveling Water Screen company and demand became so great and SSI was forced to build an even larger facility next to our existing business in MS.
1993 SSI made its first international transaction and made history with a large dual flow screen that had two footshaft and 2 headshaft sections.
1995 With the experience and expertise to back us SSI started the year with the first Hydrolox screen and quickly became known for making Mechanical Bar Screens, Non-Metallic Baskets, and started fitting new screens into obsolete wells.
1998 SSI began building a fully operational facility on a 20 acre lot situated in Slaughter, LA and was requested the task of a life-time. A customer in Columbia, South America was in a state of emergency. Due to ill advice the customer had installed a stationary screen and SSI came to the rescue with a 6 week turn around including design, build and delivery allowing the plant to come up to a full operation. |
